Adrian and Cassie work together to create the finest chocolates using quality ingredients. But where did it all begin?
Adrian is a qualified chef with a City & Guilds NVQ in professional cookery and Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety in Catering. He completed his final 5 years of a 25 year career in the Royal Marines by mentoring and managing trainee chefs in a cookery school before pursuing his passion for working with chocolate.
Adrian started making chocolates as a hobby. For a few years he would gift them to friends and family at Christmas and other special occasions. He would spend hours perfecting the tempering process and experimenting with flavours and textures to produce a chocolate that looks and tastes unlike anything else you can buy. It was when people started asking where they could buy his chocolates that we thought that maybe a hobby could become a business?
Since then he has worked tirelessly to ensure that the chocolates he produces are of the highest quality.
Cassie has a degree in PR & Marketing and spent over a decade working in various marketing roles. More recently she has become involved with dog training as the pair own four dogs, Brock the 7 year old show cocker spaniel, Boo the 4 year old border collie, Yogi the 7 year old the tri-colour border collie and Dora the 10 month old working cocker spaniel. They keep her busy but she manages to juggle the dogs and the Sales & Marketing for Loco About Cocoa to the website, social media, print management, packaging, event sourcing and booking.
We like to support charity with our work too. Adrian very much supports SSAFA. They have been serving the Armed Forces community for 130 years. SSAFA want Armed Forces (both Regular & Reserves), veterans and their families know they can depend on SSAFA for support now and for the rest of their lives.
Because of Cassie's love of dogs she is a sponsor of The Dogs Trust. She sponsors The Old Dog's Home. The Oakfield Old Dogs Home is the perfect place for the oldies to spend their twilight years, with comfy sofas to curl up on, lovely carers always nearby and they've even got their own TV to watch! The OADs (Old Age Dogs) come in all ages shapes and sizes - but each and every one of them is special! Even though they are dogs who are getting on a bit, that doesn't mean they don't enjoy life to the full!
